Spring 2026 - DIVCO - Whiteness & Anti-Racism - Sunday Afternoons (for those who identify as white)
This cohort is a collaboration with DivCo (Oak Park District 97 PTO Diversity Committees) and is designed to deepen awareness of identity, privilege, positionally to power and more, plus integration of learning into our everyday lives. It meets Sunday afternoons from 2pm - 5pm central time over the span of a month. This is open to any parents, guardians, caretakers and staff of District 97 who are white presenting and/or identifying.
It is important to attend all 4 sessions - they are designed to build upon one another. While life gets complicated and we always affirm that, attendance is expected as part of our group cohesion each cohort.
Session 1 - March 1: 2pm-5pm - WHITENESS & SOCIALIZATION
Session 2 - March 8: 2pm-5pm - IDENTITY, PRIVILEGE, & POWER
Session 3 - March 15: 2pm-5pm - SOLIDARITY & RACISM INTERRUPTION
Session 4 - March 22: 2:pm-5pm - SYSTEMIC OPPRESSION & MOVING FORWARD
